How did Diao Chan die
How did Diaochan die? This story is from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong: After Dong Zhuo recruited Diao Chan, his emotions were aroused and he did not leave the council for more than a month. However, Lu Bu increasingly missed Diao Chan.
One day, Lu Bu took advantage of Dong Zhuo's nap and sneaked into his bedroom. Diaochan leaned over from behind the bed and looked at Lu Bu with her fingertips, not turning her eyes. Lu Bu nodded to indicate that he understood her meaning. Diaochan used her fingers to wipe Dong Zhuo's teary eyes forcefully. Lu Bu's heart was shattered.
Dong Zhuo woke up in a daze and saw Lu Bu. He suddenly turned around and saw Diao Chan behind the screen.
Dong Zhuo angrily rebuked Lv Bu, saying, 'Do you dare to play with my beloved sister?' He called for the expulsion of Lv Bu from both sides. L ü Bu returned home with resentment.
Shortly after, Diao Chan led Lu Bu to the Fengyi Pavilion in the back garden of the Prime Minister's Office, crying and saying, "She revealed how she missed Lu Bu and how Dong Zhuo had raped her," and made a gesture of wanting to commit suicide. Lu Bu stopped. Diaochan took the opportunity to fall into Lv Bu's arms and said, "My wife is in a deep chamber. When she heard the name of the general, she was so famous that she thought she was just one person in this world. Who would have thought that she would be controlled by someone else instead! My life is like a year, may the general have mercy and save her." Lv Bu's heart was even stronger.
Dong Zhuo, who had not seen Diao Chan for a long time, went to the backyard to search for her. He happened to see Diao Chan embracing Lv Bu, and his heart was filled with anger. He grabbed the painting spear and stabbed her.
Lu Bu turned around and left. Dong Zhuo was overweight and couldn't catch up. He flew a halberd, but was punched by Lv Bu and landed in the grass.
The relationship between Lu Bu and Dong Zhuo completely broke down, and in the end, he formed an alliance with Wang Yun and sent Light Chariot Captain Li Su to bring Dong Zhuo to the capital.
When Dong Zhuo entered the Weiyang Hall, he was ambushed by soldiers lying in ambush inside the hall, and Lu Bu's spear pierced Dong Zhuo's throat.
Lu Bu found Diao Chan in the chaos of war and brought her home to fulfill his long cherished wish. Later, Chang'an was in chaos, and Lu Bu fled with Diao Chan.
When Lu Bu was defeated by Cao Cao, strategist Chen Gong urged him to break through. L ü Bu was reluctant to part with Diao Chan and was eventually tied up by his own generals at the White Gate and offered to Cao Cao, where he was hanged.
L ü Bu has died, and Diao Chan is nowhere to be found again.
Some people say that Diao Chan later committed suicide, while others say that Cao Cao gave her along with a red rabbit horse to Guan Yu in order to win her over. Guan Yu left behind a fine horse but killed a beautiful woman.
The Mystery of Diaochan's Death: How did Diaochan die later in real history?
In folk culture, there are two major series about the whereabouts of the beautiful woman Diao Chan: "tragic death" and "good ending".
There are three different versions in the "Tragic Death" series. The first version is the Kunqu opera "Slaying the Mink", which depicts Lu Bu being beheaded by Cao Cao at the White Gate Tower, and his wife Diao Chan being transferred to Guan Yu by Zhang Fei. However, Guan Yu refuses to accept this woman with a stain, fearing that she is a water beauty and can only maintain her reputation by dying. Therefore, he summons Diao Chan to the tent at night, draws his sword, and painfully slays the beauty under the lamp. The second version comes from the Ming Dynasty drama "Guan Gong and Diao Chan", in which Diao Chan confesses her inner grievances to Guan Yu and details her experience of using her beauty scheme to eliminate traitors in the Han Dynasty, thus winning Guan Yu's admiration and respect. But Guan Yu ultimately decided to dedicate himself to the revival of the Han dynasty, and Diao Chan had no choice but to commit suicide with full tenderness, using her death to prove her political chastity. The third version tells the story of Diao Chan escaping under the protection of Guan Yu and cutting her hair to become a nun, but Cao Cao sends people to pursue her. In order not to make it difficult for Guan Yu and others, Diao Chan resolutely drew her sword and died. A trace of melancholy fragrant soul followed the righteousness of the country.
The 'Good End' series also has three versions. The first version is that Diao Chan eventually became a nun and wrote the play "Jinyuntang Secretly Determined Chain Plan" anonymously to demonstrate her political contributions to the world. She eventually passed away peacefully in a nunnery. The second version states that Guan Yu did not have a crush on women, but instead escorted Diao Chan back to her hometown of Mu'er Village. Diaochan, on the other hand, remained unmarried and was eventually enshrined in a temple by the villagers. The third version states that Diao Chan was taken as a concubine by Guan Yu and sent to settle in Chengdu, but Guan Yu did not expect that she would ultimately be defeated and die, and the poor Diao Chan would wander into Shu and become a village woman.
In short, the description of the person "Diaochan" in official history is very vague, just a vague shadow. It is still difficult to verify its whereabouts. But we can infer based on reason: after Dong Zhuo's death, Diaochan fell into the hands of Lu Bu, and after Lu Bu's defeat, she fell back into the hands of Cao Cao. Although these are not recorded in historical books, they are still logical. As for her final fate, as there is no record in historical books, it is a mystery that will last forever. We can also make a reasonable inference, but there are two possibilities: one possibility is that he spent the rest of his life in Cao Cao's palace. 12 years after the defeat of Lu Bu, in the 15th year of Jian'an (210 AD), Cao Cao built the Bronze Sparrow Terrace in Ye City and invited various performers to perform on it, including perhaps the "Diaochan". Another possibility is that in the cruel war environment, Diao Chan, as a weak woman accompanying the army, was in danger of losing her life anytime and anywhere, and had already passed away without knowing when.
